Bake sale time! I get super excited about making little goodies to impress! When it is time for a bake sale think outside the norm. Don’t just go for the standard cookies or brownies, make something to stand out! Here are a few of my “go to’s” that are really easy and really fun to make!
Candied Marshmallows
1 bag of regular size marshmallows
1 bag of white chocolate
colored sugar or sprinkles
In a double boiler (heat proof bowl over pan of simmering water) melt the bag of chocolate chips. Line a cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper and set to the side. Insert a tooth pick into the top of the marshmallow and coat it in the melted chocolate, sprinkle with desired yumminess and place on lined cookie sheet to dry (put in the freezer for super speed!). Done!
S’mores (no campfire needed!)
milk chocolate chips
graham crackers
mini marshmallows
In a double boiler (heat proof bowl over pan of simmering water) melt the chocolate chips. Line a cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper and set to the side. Dip graham crackers into the melted chocolate and make rows on the cookie sheet. Line 9 mini marshmallows (3 rows of 3) on to the melted chocolate. Next, dip another graham cracker into the chocolate and place on top of the marshmallows. Let set to dry (place in freezer!). Done!
Kentucky Bourbon Balls
1 box of vanilla wafers (finely crushed)
1 cup of confectioners sugar
1 1/2 cups of walnuts (finely crushed)
1/4 cup of corn syrup
2 T. cocoa powder
1/2 cup of Kentucky bourbon (the good stuff)
1/2 cup sugar
In a large bowl combine all of the ingredients (minus the 1/2 cup of sugar). Stir together to combine. Place the 1/2 cup of sugar into a separate bowl. With your hands, roll out balls about an inch in diameter and then drop them into the bowl of sugar to coat. Done! (*Yes, this goodie does contain alcohol, so this should only be served to adults!! Kids can’t have all the fun!)
Just had some of the bourbon balls…super good!
Hope the bake sale was a success & the pirates aren’t too mean tomorrow !
