Easy plant based recipes for the whole family to enjoy together.

Snow Cones

Snow Cones

Serves 4

4 cups of crushed ice

3 tablespoons plant based Jel Dessert mix (any flavor, I like the brand Simply Delish or Bakol)

In a blender, place the crushed ice and Jel mix. Blend the ice and Jel mix together until finely crushed. You may need to turn off the blender and stir with a spoon, then continue blending a few times to finely crush all of the ice. Spoon the flavored ice out into a cup and enjoy!

The Snowy Day, by Ezra Jack Keats, is a classic that we all know and love. The little boy in the story has an adventurous day out in the snow doing everything that snow is made for. Crunching it under his feet, making a snowman, making snow angels, sliding down a hill, the day is so much fun he tries to bring the snow home with him! Making Snow Cones is a perfect way to have your icy snow and eat it too! Just as the little boy makes tracks in the snow, make your own tracks in a painting!

Finger Paint Snow Tracks!

You will need:

Colored construction paper

White washable paint

Using colored paper, dip your finger tips in the white paint to create tracks across your paper. As if you were walking through the snow, pretend to point your toes (finger tips!) in different directions or see what it would look like to drag your feet and make tracks just like Peter in the story.
