Summer is just around the corner and fresh berries are almost in season! I can’t wait to pick cherries from our trees and cook them down on the stove with a little sugar to make fresh compotes, pies and turnovers. If you don’t have the time for fresh berries, no worries! These two ingredient turnovers are as simple as can be and a real crowd pleaser. This recipe is perfect for the kids to help out with, it’s so simple they could probably make them all by themselves! A book that will really get them in the turnover spirit is the “lift the flap” classic Where’s Spot? by Eric Hill.

Two Ingredient Turnovers
1 20 oz. can of fruit pie filling (of your choice)
1 8 oz. can of crescent rolls
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Open can of crescent rolls and separate them into 8 triangles. Place each triangle onto a sheet pan. Open your pie filling and spoon a couple tablespoons of filling onto the larger end of the triangle, leaving the top half empty. Fold the top “flap” of the triangles over the end with filling and bake for about 8 minutes or until your pastry is golden brown.
